Dinner with mother nature
It’s summer and green is everywhere! With leafy trees and blossoming flowers, it’s time to invite friends over for breakfast, brunch or even a picnic. Here are some great ideas to add Mother Nature to your guest list.
Go green
Flowers are the traditional choice for table settings, however flowers are expensive and not very long lasting. Get creative - use green clippings from your garden, add in some potted plants to create a natural summer feel. This will give a fresh look to your table and create a feeling of plenty.
Succulents
Succulents are super trendy - make a statement by using them to create a themed table setting. Succulents come in all shapes and sizes, adding interest and fun to you summer table. If possible, use shades of greens and browns in your crockery, glassware and linen to complete the natural theme, and capture the feeling of summer.
Scent
Make use of natural scented essential oils or candles. Fresh twigs of rosemary will add a scented blast to get the juices flowing.
Linen
Make use of textured fabrics and colourful linen to mimic the feeling of the outdoors.
Dinner service
Rustic styled crockery, cutlery and glassware will add to the organic feel.
Colour
Summer has so many colours to choose from. When choosing a colour theme, start with the items you already have, like your crockery and glassware. Then choose potted plants, flowers and linen in the same tonal range. This will give your table setting a beautiful themed feel.
Wishing you many happy summer occasions with family and friends.
